I was recently looking at a website that makes references to the DSM, and I took their personality test (interesting results), and at the end, it mentioned I had a heading towards Somatization Disorder. Somatization Disorder is where you have unexplainable pains, depression, and neurological issues and oddities. To see the full description, go to http://psyweb.com/Mdisord/jsp/somatization.jsp
Well, I also just happened to recently post on transabled.org on the councelling discussion, and I was quite interested in how SD and BIID were so close. I am now waiting on replies and will update you when I get them. What I asked was if SD was a bi-product of BIID because, at least for me, I would like comments on this about your own experiences, I have been through what seems to be phantom limb that is 1: coming from a place where it shouldn't (and can't), and 2: I'm not missing any body parts.
Very interesting.
